Super gutters in Florida are one of the most misunderstood products in the home improvement industry. Most homeowners have never heard of them — and most gutter companies don’t install them. If you have a pool cage or are planning one, here’s everything you need to know.
A super gutter is a heavy-duty structural aluminum channel installed along the base of a pool enclosure where the cage meets your home. Unlike a standard seamless gutter — which is fabricated on-site from an aluminum coil — a super gutter is a pre-engineered component purchased from specialized distributors.
The key difference: your entire pool cage frame bolts directly into the super gutter. It’s not just a water management system — it’s the structural anchor of your entire pool enclosure.
Florida’s pool cages take a beating. Heavy rain, hurricane-force winds, and year-round UV exposure put constant stress on the structure. According to the Florida Building Code, pool enclosures must meet specific structural requirements for wind resistance. Without a super gutter:
A properly installed super gutter solves all of these problems at once — directing water away from the structure while providing the rigid base the cage needs.
These are completely different products with completely different purposes:
You cannot substitute a standard gutter for a super gutter on a pool cage — the structural load is completely different. A standard gutter would fail immediately under the weight of a pool cage frame.

No — and this surprises most homeowners. Super gutters require specialized knowledge, tools, and supplier relationships that most gutter companies don’t have. Many companies that advertise “all gutter services” will turn away super gutter jobs.
Flod Services is one of the few companies in Central Florida that installs super gutters — including screen panel replacement for existing pool cage structures.
Super gutters are available in white or bronze aluminum — the two standard colors for pool cage frames in Florida. Most homeowners choose the color that matches their existing cage frame so the super gutter blends seamlessly into the structure.
We recommend cleaning your super gutter at minimum twice per year — spring and fall. Debris accumulation around the sealed joints breaks down the waterproof sealant over time, leading to leaks at the base of your pool cage.
Homes with heavy tree coverage near the pool cage may need cleaning 3–4 times per year. Consistent maintenance is the single most important factor in extending the life of your super gutter system.
Yes — in addition to super gutter installation, Flod Services replaces screen panels on existing pool cage structures. We do not build full pool enclosures from scratch, but if your cage frame is already in place, we handle both the super gutter and the screen panel replacement in a single visit.
Flod Services installs super gutters across Orlando, Longwood, Winter Park, Apopka, Sanford, Oviedo, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Maitland, Tuskawilla, Windermere, Daytona Beach, and Deltona.
