Licensing, Insurance & Permits
Do you need a license to install gutters in Florida?

No. Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation does not regulate gutter installation, and no state license exists for gutter or leaf guard installation, cleaning, or repairs. This applies to all gutter work statewide.

What we do carry is a valid business license — a business tax receipt — which confirms Flod Services LLC is legally registered and authorized to operate in Florida. You can verify our active status on the Florida Division of Corporations website (sunbiz.org) under Flod Services LLC.

For work involving insulated roofs (roll form), we use a licensed contractor who pulls the required permits.

Are you insured?

Yes. Flod Services carries full liability insurance covering your property during all work. All our installers are our own employees — not subcontractors — which means they are covered under our policy for any on-site incidents.

Do I need a permit for gutter installation?

For standard seamless gutter installation, most Central Florida counties — including Seminole and Orange — do not require a permit. The City of Orlando may require one if gutters are included in architectural plans submitted to the city.

If you're unsure about your specific address, call us and we'll help you confirm what's required before any work begins.

Do I need to inform my HOA?

Most HOAs require prior approval for gutter installation. You'll typically need to submit our estimate, proof of insurance, and sometimes a copy of your home survey. We can provide all required documentation — just ask during your assessment and we'll have it ready same day.

02.
Gutter Materials & Design
Why should I choose seamless gutters?

The most common way gutters fail is at the seams — the points where sectional pieces are joined. A seamless gutter eliminates those failure points entirely. Each straight run is fabricated on-site in one continuous piece, custom-fit to your home's exact dimensions.

The result: no seams to leak, a cleaner look, and a system that lasts 15–25+ years with proper maintenance.

What material are your gutters made from?

We install premium aluminum seamless gutters. Aluminum is the most common and most durable gutter material for Florida homes — lightweight, rust-resistant, and built to handle the state's heavy rainfall and intense UV exposure. With proper maintenance, aluminum gutters last 20+ years.

Will my gutters rust?

Aluminum doesn't rust — rust is specific to iron. However, aluminum does corrode over time when exposed to acidic rainwater, shingle grit, decomposing leaves, and Florida's humidity. This is a slow process that regular cleaning significantly slows down.

Keeping your gutters clear with regular cleanings — and adding leaf guard — extends the life of your system and protects your investment for decades.

What's the difference between seamless gutters and a super gutter?

They are completely different products with different purposes. A seamless gutter is fabricated on-site from an aluminum coil in one continuous piece — designed to handle roof water runoff.

A super gutter is a pre-engineered, heavy-duty structural aluminum component purchased from specialized distributors. It's designed exclusively for pool cage installations — the pool cage frame bolts directly into it. A standard seamless gutter cannot carry that structural load.

Flod Services installs both. We're one of the few companies in Central Florida that handles standard seamless gutters AND super gutters. Most gutter companies don't touch super gutters at all.

03.
Sizing & Installation
How are seamless gutters fabricated?

We bring our mobile fabrication unit directly to your home. An aluminum coil is fed through our on-site machine, which bends and shapes it to your exact roof dimensions in real time. The gutter is cut to the precise length needed — one continuous piece, zero waste, zero factory delays.

This on-site process is what makes a seamless gutter truly seamless. There's no pre-cutting in a shop, no adjustments needed. It fits your home perfectly because it's made for your home specifically.

How long does installation take?

Most residential gutter installations are completed in 1–2 days depending on the size of your home and project scope. We'll confirm the specific timeline during your free on-site assessment.

How do I know where I need gutters?

Common signs your home needs gutters or gutter work:

  • Water digging trenches in soil near walls or foundation
  • Soggy or 'mushy' areas around the house that don't dry out
  • Soil or mulch washing away from landscaping during rain
  • Mold or mildew on fascia boards or exterior walls
  • Water pooling near your foundation after heavy rain
  • Dirt or mud splashing onto your home's exterior surfaces

Our estimators assess your property during the free quote visit and identify every area that needs attention.

What warranty comes with gutter installation?

All gutter installations are backed by our 15-year material warranty and 1-year labor warranty. The material warranty covers defects in the aluminum and manufacturer issues. The labor warranty covers our workmanship.

04.
Cleaning & Maintenance
How often should I clean my gutters in Central Florida?

We recommend cleaning 2–3 times per year for most Central Florida homes. Spring and fall are the most critical — spring clears winter and pollen buildup before rainy season, fall clears debris before hurricane season.

Homes with heavy tree coverage — particularly oak and pine trees, which are common in Winter Park, Apopka, and Sanford — may need cleaning 3–4 times per year. When in doubt, inspect after any major storm.

What happens if I don't clean my gutters?

Clogged gutters back up water and cause serious, expensive damage over time:

  • Water intrusion into roof, fascia, and attic
  • Foundation erosion and settling
  • Mold and mildew growth on exterior walls
  • Landscape erosion around the home
  • Mosquito breeding in standing water
  • Accelerated corrosion of the gutter system itself
  • Regular cleaning is the single most cost-effective maintenance you can do for your home's exterior.
What does gutter cleaning include?

Every cleaning includes a full inspection of your gutter system, hand removal of all debris from gutters and downspouts, high-pressure water flushing to clear remaining buildup, and a final check to confirm water flows correctly to all downspouts. If we find any damage during cleaning, we'll document it and provide repair recommendations.

Do you clean downspouts too?

Yes. Every cleaning includes gutters, downspouts, and elbows. We flush the entire system to ensure water is properly directed away from your foundation — not just cleared at the surface.

05.
Leaf Guard & Protection
What is a leaf guard and do I need one in Central Florida?

A leaf guard is a stainless steel mesh screen installed over your gutters that blocks leaves, pine needles, and debris while allowing water to flow through freely. In Central Florida, where oak and pine debris is constant year-round, leaf guard is one of the most practical home improvements you can make.

Without protection, most homes need professional cleaning 2–4 times per year. With leaf guard, cleaning becomes optional or occasional — typically once a year at most.

Can leaf guard be installed on existing gutters?

Yes. We can retrofit leaf guard onto your existing gutters without removing or replacing them. Our installers secure the mesh over your current system — no damage, no mess, same-day installation for most homes.

Will leaf guard completely prevent debris from entering my gutters?

Our premium stainless steel mesh blocks the vast majority of debris — leaves, pine needles, twigs, and most shingle granules. Some fine dust and very small particles may still accumulate over months, but not in quantities that cause clogs. It dramatically reduces maintenance without eliminating it entirely.

What warranty does leaf guard installation come with?

All leaf guard installations are backed by our 15-year material warranty and 1-year labor warranty — the same coverage we apply to all our services.

06.
Lanai & Screen Installation
What is a lanai and what does Flod Services install?

A lanai is a screened enclosure that transforms an open porch into a protected, insect-free outdoor living area. We install aluminum-framed black mesh screen enclosures on any existing porch — and build the full structure from the ground up when one doesn't exist yet.

We build from scratch. Most screen companies only work on existing structures. Flod builds the aluminum frame from nothing — giving you the freedom to create outdoor space wherever you want it on your property.

Can you repair a damaged section of my screen?

We don't patch or repair sections. When a screen is torn or deteriorated, we replace it entirely. A full replacement gives you a clean, uniform finish with no visible repairs — and ensures the warranty applies to the complete installation. Patching never lasts and always shows.

How long does lanai installation take?

Most installations — new builds and full replacements — are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex structures may take an additional day. We confirm the exact timeline during your free assessment.

Do you install screen doors and pet doors?

Yes. We install sliding or swing screen doors depending on your preference. Pet doors are also available for homeowners with animals. Doors can be added to new installations or retrofitted onto existing lanai enclosures.

What colors are available for lanai frames and mesh?

Mesh is available in black — the standard for residential screen enclosures in Florida. Aluminum frames come in white or bronze. Both frame colors are also available for super gutter, so you can match finishes across your home's exterior.

What warranty does lanai installation come with?

All lanai work is covered by our 15-year material warranty and 1-year labor warranty. This applies to new structures and full screen replacements

07.
Super Gutter & Pool Cage Screen Panels
What is a super gutter?

A super gutter is a heavy-duty structural aluminum channel installed along the base of a pool enclosure where the cage meets your home. Unlike a standard seamless gutter, it's a pre-engineered component purchased from specialized distributors — not fabricated on-site. The entire pool cage frame bolts directly into it, making it the structural anchor of the entire system.

Most gutter companies don't install super gutters. Flod Services is one of the few teams in Central Florida that handles super gutter installation — including screen panel replacement for existing pool cages.

Do you build full pool enclosures?

No. We install super gutters and replace screen panels on existing pool cage structures. We do not build full pool enclosures from scratch. If your cage frame is already in place, we handle the super gutter installation and panel replacement.

How often does a super gutter need maintenance?

We recommend cleaning your super gutter at minimum twice per year — spring and fall. Debris accumulation around sealed joints breaks down the waterproof sealant over time, leading to leaks. Homes with heavy tree coverage may need more frequent cleaning. Consistent maintenance is the most important factor in extending the life of your super gutter system.

What colors are available for super gutters?

Super gutters are available in white or bronze aluminum — the same two frame colors available for our lanai enclosures, so your pool cage and porch can match.

What warranty comes with super gutter installation?

All super gutter installations are backed by our 15-year material warranty and 1-year labor warranty — the same coverage we provide across all our services.

08.
Colors & Customization
What gutter colors do you offer?

We offer 20+ premium aluminum colors for seamless gutters — including black, white, brown, musket brown, bronze, gray, charcoal, tan, and more. Most standard colors are available at no extra cost. Ask for our color samples during your free assessment so you can see them in person against your home's exterior.

Can my downspouts be a different color than my gutters?

Yes. Downspouts and gutters can be different colors at no extra charge. With 20+ colors available, we can usually find a great combination that works with your home's exterior.

What profiles are available for seamless gutters?

We offer two main profiles:

  • K-Style — the most common residential profile. Flat back, decorative front edge, blends with most home styles.
  • Half-Round — classic rounded profile with superior water capacity. Ideal for traditional or historic homes.

All colors are available in both profiles.
